From 1st page to 3rd - Why did Google do this!!??

I don't get why when I searched "Watch Underworld Rise of the Lycans Online" 2 days ago I ranked 4th or 5th for the keyword but today when I checked to see where I ranked I wasn't even on the first page but on the third.

Why is this happening? Will my rankings return to normal (flunctuation) or is this a permanent move?

How long had you ranked 4th or 5th? Was it just two days ago you spotted this?

In my experience rankings tend to go up and down for a while before resting in a (relatively) top spot for some time. Normal behaviour.

You have not got the Google boot as yet since it ranks on first page for its domain name.

But your backlink profile is too ordinary (Yahoo shows below 20 backlinks) - to even rank for a your title. Sorry to say that - but thats the truth.

Your Digg submissions are currently taking up your ranks. So you must first make the domain strong with more targeted and related link-building campaigns.

I once had a blog that went to 2nd page even for its domain. Without knowing the reason - I went out and built some links for it. Now its having normal rankings.

It seems Google is devaluing certain types of links from time to time these days. So one has to always build some links all the time. Maybe 10-20 links per month is good.

i m also face this problem but still i m not find what is the reason for that. it may be google dance, sandbox and many options so i m not decide which factor is exactly affect to this problem.

 

build some more backlinks with variants of anchor text and you will get the rankings.

 

Well Google Love Fresh content for just some time ... You don't have to worry about anything in next update You will find That your site is again in first page ...

Yes, I agree with the others. It is normal behaviour for a domain to fluctuate for a while in the rankings. It might even dissapear for a while until it settles on a spot.

 

Mate - you should have told it earlier. It would have saved lots of troubles.

 

In weekly updates other sites may have improved and at the same time some changes from your side have effected the ranking
