I had been running a Clickbank campaign for almost a month. Was my first real successful PPC campaign. Did it all on Adwords. Ad Groups were tight. Got my first 10 QS! Most of my KWs were 7-9. Making a handful of sales everyday. I had a simple landing page. Just one column. Straight to the point. Large call to action. But sales I thought could be better. So i created a new landing page from a template I found. Thought it looked nice. Uploaded it. Same format. Same content. The next morning I wake up to see that my KWs were not triggering ads! I've never had that before. I noticed my QS were still high. So I thought it was problem with Adwords. So I just waited. At night, I noticed that KWs were now showing ads but my QS was down to 1!! All of them. So I did not get many impressions obviously. So I got on Adwords chat support. They told me that my LP was reviewed recently and it was not acceptable (However i just uploaded the new LP the night before. Did they review it that fast?). They said it needed more content. They said I shouldn't use a template (however don't a lot of people use templates to make LPs?) and create a brand new website. I said my previous LP was doing well and gave me high QS. They suggested I go back to that one. So I did that night. Next morning I get up and no ads showing and QS still at 1. I chat again and they said the same thing. Gave my old landing page and low QS. Said it wasn't "navigatable". I was confused. I said it was a simple one column page. They said I needed to be clear what my page was about. Also I used it for almost a month with no problems till now. I pointed out there was another user with the same similar style page as mine. I showed it to them. No fresh content. Just a one page sales page like mine. However still showing ads. I forgot what they said. Later I checked my adgroups and noticed that 3 of my ads, that i had been using for a month, said it was disapproved for copyright violations! Never had seen that before. Again, I did a search and saw a few other ads showing the same copyrighted keywords that they said I couldn't use. So it was like a train wreck. I guess I need a new landing page. however I find it not fair that another landing page like mine is still up and running with the same copyrighted keywords. Has anyone ever come across this? Solutions for me? Thank for reading my long post. Hoping it would help others in the future too.
Sorry to hear that. I prefer to not call Google unless it's absolutely necessary. You never know if their rep will get snoopy and flag some of your other stuff. I'd start out with a new domain. Add privacy, contact, and terms of service pages. This stuff happens all the time, so grin and bear it or branch out into other PPC networks. Google really likes to screw with affiliates. It doesn't make sense to me considering we're their bread and butter.
is this the Google slap? I'm thinking the rep saw the rest of my stuff and thought it all wasn't good enough for Adwords and flagged it all. So the old domain is pretty much useless? Better to start from a brand new domain?
Yeah, you've been slapped. Move the site to a new domain and create a new campaign. You can copy it over if you have Adwords Editor and switch the info. Definitely don't just update the current campaign. Create a new one.
Was it literally just a single page? no privacy policy, terms, about, contact pages in footer? was the landing page made up of images more than anything?
completely agree with everything above. i don't contact google unless i absolutely have to, which is almost never. i had a site get slapped; bought another domain with the same name but with an extra letter in it; optimized brand new content; created similar pages with about 400 words on each page and interlinked some of the keywords (very similar content on each page, just written on diff related topics); added privacy/about/contact/sitemap links in the footer (they look for those pages). was getting clicks as low as .02 with a super high QS and high conversion rates. it can be done. no matter what you have to keep trying, but with another domain, or else you won't make anymore money. and never re-submit anything to google that's been flagged or rejected. on a related note, if your entire account gets banned, customer service won't know. the issue will have to be escalated for you to find out. google never lets people know if they've been banned permanently. they just cut the cord and walk away. gangsters.
It did have one image. It didn't have the other stuff. I know Google likes it but I thought I could get by without it. Now I'll add it. thank you very much for the advice. This is my first slap and I've learned a lot. It still sucks though.
