I heard a lot about microstock photography. Actually I know some one who makes a living from this. I want to buy a D-SLR and to try to make for the beginning some pocket money. Do you think I have any chance as a beginner - no experience? I read some online articles and I found Nikon D60 as an optimal D-SLRD for beginners. Are here - on DP - some photographers? I want to know what should I know at the beginning about this market. Should I go with it? Thanks
What i can say its better than running blog. I doubt that it will make you millionaires from this trying this, but it will earn you some pocket money. When taking picture make sure it has a value as an illustration or as a concept or idea that a customer can benefit from.
Thanks for your tips. As I said I won't do this to be millionaires, I do this for pocket money and relaxation, because I stay almost all day at PC.
well It always depends on if you wil lbe able to get your stuff out and sold often. But I nerver tried to sell stock photos because I think getting 1 or 2 doller for a quite unique photo is not enough.
I have some experience with digital SLR's and I'm a BIG fan of the Canon EOS 40D @ $1,099 list. This should give you some camera to grow into as your skill set improves. If you need some HD video abilities, the new Canon EOS 5D Mark II is an impressive camera body. Plus... the lens options for the Canon bodies CAN'T be beat!
D-SLR eh? Well if you're a decent photographer there are plenty of ways to make money with a good camera So if you're trully interested and NOT just doing it to make cash I'd definetly give it a try.
I forgot to mention that time-lapse stock photography is also a get revenue source if you have some interesting subject matter. Affordable digital media services should be in GREAT demand.
