I strongly advise reading the info at the adwords learning center, you must understand at least some minimal information about it to avoid wasting money.

This is GREAT advice. Google will give you a guideline on how much to bid on each keyword to achieve a first page position, while not fully accurate it will still give you some estimates to work with. To see this suggestion then just have a look at your keyword list and it should say beside each one.

Don't jump in without at least spending a week learning the basics. You would be able to pay 2x less if you just learn a couple basics.

I'm offering a free ebook written PPC Coach in my sig. It should help you out.

Also, regarding your bids. You have to figure out what ROI you want. For example:

    Commission per sale: $20
    ROI: 100%
    Conversion rate (estimated): 1%

    Max ad spend: $10
    Max bid: 10 cents

I totally agree with mariya to spend a week learning the basics first. For a site that is niche such as yours that could also be geographically targeted to your area, AdWords should be able to make you a lot of money. If you were in the UK I'd suggest you come on one of my AdWords courses ;-)

there is alot of information out there about adwords, some good, some bad so be careful. the best thing to do is look for information at google adwords help center and get the basics and then go from there.

I made the mistake of using board keywords back in the day and lost money quick smart, not enough to pull my hair cut, but enough to make it a lesson I won't soon forget. Take the time to read about highly relevant, long tail keywords, less traffic but highly targeted traffic which is want you want.
