marketing and branding strength. certainly not product quality. whenever i've had to use it, it seems like a poor implementation of someone else's ideas (once again...)

    Yes u can!

But you should know that IE6 > IE7 > IE8. Newer IE only add some crap on themself.

I have been using IE7 since it was released no problems yet except for it closing on me sometimes but almost any browser would do that. I would still recommend using FireFox or Opera, they seem more reliable.

IE8 is the most resource friendly browser of the major players. However, they are pretty far behind as far as web standards go.

Not true. IE is built in to the operating system so its actual resource usage is hidden among the other components already turned on for Windows. It's usage is actually comparable to the other browsers.

Though I use firefox, IE8 has improved very much over IE7. Its support for standards has increased. They have kept a compability mode to revert back to old crappy rendering too...

I would say that Internet Explorer 8 is indeed better then firefox, the private browsing option in IE8 is awesome, and one thing to note, just check out the memory usage when you are using IE 8 and firefox, you would yourself see the difference

IE has too much haters, meaning too many virus and trojans attached in their websites, when you're using IE, BAM! virus infected. Firefox, far more better and faster.
