best free article directory script?

I was lookingfor some info on the best free article directory scripts. I am somewhat familiar w/ artice ms and article dashboard. I am open to suggestions. I am looking for something that is easy, seo friendly and has good free templates...

Don't use Articledasboard, it is not supported anymore and has many documented issues.

Use ArticleMS for a free script or ArticleFriendly if you want to pay.

That one is dead.

 

Don't use Articledasboard, it is not very good....

 

you can use CMS like drupal, and use CCK module to create custom field(title, summary, article,about the author), enable profile picture, create a role for author(featured author, expert author, etc).

I created an article directory based on drupal earlier here it is http://www.dailyfreearticles.com/ . The category are still hidden and only the category with article content will be displayed. This is the first phase but once the site get a lot of article submission, I'm planning to create a ezine, articlebase like theme.

Besides, you can try esyndicat + article plugin. It will allow to create categories and post articles in them It depends on what kind of site you really need and what expect from it.
