    I just - 18 Feb 09 - tried the .99 tip but it didn't work.
    I opened a new account and put in the promo code but the page refreshed with the same info.
    Anyone else?

    yep, it just ended... I tried with several accounts and it didn't let me. What a shame, I got about 10 really really good domains for the price of one!

    They probably louse like $20k when they do this. There is a wonderful thing called a "buy" rate and icaan sets it, so they have to go under the buy rate to make this offer...

    Isn't that against GoDaddy's TOS ? I mean, can they ban you if they found you were cheating and confiscate all your domains with them ?

    Well as long as you don't lie in the account information, I can't see how they would want to cancel a paying customer. Believe me, it's not like it costs them money to do this, they make it back in new accounts, hosting, privacy, and all the other things they up sell.

    In the end, they simply have more domains registered during the promotion, making it a success because more people visited and more accounts were created.

    But they could just make you pay for them, or cancel the one's you only paid $1.19 for.
