$200 Single Page Blog DESIGN-ONLY Contest

    ** Contest ends Thursday 2/19 at 6:00pm PST **

One winner will be chosen as long as there are at least 5 competing designs to chose from.

Payment will be made via PayPal *after* all source PSD files are delivered and verified to be "layered" as per the requirements.

    SITE LOOK AND FEEL
Here are a couple of sites to look at for what type of "look and feel" and colors I'm looking for...

    http://vividbotanicals.com
    http://kiivera.com

    SPECIFICS
This design will be converted to a Wordpress Blog Theme, no coding required for this contest, however, your design must make sense for a blog implementation.

    • Three Column Design - Left & Right "bars" with center "content" channel
    • Would like to at least maintain the width equal to this site: http://kiifacts.com - this is the eventual home of this design. Would like to go wider, if practical, but not sure if it would go beyond recommended standards.
    • Four small flag images in upper right corner - flags of Canada, Japan, Australia & New Zealand. These should be small and not distract from the overall design, but also somewhat catch your attention.
    • Use the rich and dark colors of http://vividbotanicals.com
    • I don't want the center content to be on a real dark background - readability is important. White might be too much of a stark contrast, so looking for some creative ideas here... maybe a silver or graphite...
    • I want a classy design but not too "heavy" for download...

    IMPORTANT
All artwork must be provided in individually layered PSD files - no compositing... I work with PSD, and may want to "tweak" the design myself.

Please post any and all questions here so I can respond to everyone.

    Thanks,

No, I was not joking. I have held several contests here and never refused to pay anyone - in fact, have awarded multiple winners some times. However, I have, on two ocassions paid for services that were never delivered.

I am more than happy to PROMPTLY pay the winner for the job - just want to make sure I'm getting what I'm paying for...

I've never had any issues with that or anyone regarding that...

    Thanks,

Hmmmm . . .i agree with anybody here to received payment first before sending psd's but ofcourse there would be an exemption if the ch is a trusted/good reputation.

iTrader: (5) = good reputation i guess so count me in. . .you will have my entry soon.

    I will enter soon..

Since you want to make sure about the layered PSD, it would be good option to have 50% before PSD and 50% after PSD..

Personally I had never given someone PSD before payment, so its will be best to all to have 50/50 situation..

    Thanks

Thank you for your entry, but please reread the requirements and look at the two sample sites that I provided...

FYI TO EVERYONE - The current logo is IRRELEVANT and can be changed...

I'm looking for the deep rich reds and blacks of those two provided sites...

    Thanks!

I see your point about the 50/50 and have no problem with that whatsoever.

Good idea - thanks... Hope to see your entry...

Yeah, I totally understand - no problem...

Another suggested a 50/50 payment - 50% before delivery of layered PSD the other 50% after... I'm fine with that.

I have no intention of stiffing anyone - just don't want to be burned again myself... Last time I paid $250 for a design that gave me a single JPEG that was virtually unusable because I had to pay to have it "re-done" in layers in order to give it to the coder, etc...

Hope to see your entry in the contest!

Would you be willing to do a $100 before, $100 after?

Not that I don't trust you, but according to your iTraders, you've never held a contest/trade on this scale before.

    -Will

    //EDIT

Whoops! I see you've already answered that question
    Sorry.

I hope I can get some time to enter this contest. Looks like it'll be a good one!
