Give some incentives to join and post on your forum. Like a backlinkless listing on your proxy list [If you have one] or links on your proxy network or such.

no offense but i think you rigged the voting options in the top lists to which you have submitted cause when i try to enter those sites without voting it doesnt work(tried it with 4-5 of them and didnt work)
i would suggest you be careful with those techniques.

widgetbux ads are Flash ones that take too long to load , so slows down the proxy site if you put it in the proxified pages
    about the first page
i think Adsense is the best choice
    BTW
im running out of BDW this month :) so will sell 3 of my best proxies that are having about 6k hits a day in total , with great PR3 and 2 domains name
if you are interested plz check THE THREAD max Bid is 120 right now (Bin is $160) the network made $3.6 yesterday only from adsense

    @Guthix.
I believe your proxy forum will be successful cos its tough to find answers for proxy related to questions. You can hire some forum posters to kickstart it. Also start a blog with a subdomain or a sub-directory where you will provide useful tips. This will be helpful.

    Good Luck.:D

Because there isn't many people or enough information in the niche? Proxy.org forums are very focused on this topic and have a reasonably active forum. There have been several other proxy webmaster forums over time but they all disappeared or became inactive after a while. Between here and Proxy.org forums, there's all the information you can possibly need.

There is no harm building a forum.
Be active and invite a few of reputable experienced proxy owners to join you.
Be different, build a new script, freebies etc to attract people in proxy niche.
If you just building a normal forum and hoping people will post there, hmm..it is hard to make it grow.
Take proxyusers.net or proxyownersforum for an example, not many people post there and there are a lot of spams too. be like netbuilders or webproxytalk.

    Wish you luck!

**PS, don't only think to paste a hell lot of ad codes on the forum thinking to monetize it. It wont work.

Thanks for the advice. I actually was not planning on adding any advertisements at all until I got somewhat decent traffic.

Hmm, I am good at HTML/CSS. Maybe I can make Glype themes and offer them for members?

Yes sure... it will bring good amount of traffic + force users to register for downloading....

btw there is slim chance of making money by placing ads on webmasters related forum.

Is the default Glype install fine to run as is?

Any mods to make it run for efficient?
