Does anyone know of a very simple cms that I can use to add and manage articles, tutorials etc? I need something free or very low priced.
Joomla or Mambo are as simple as you need them, but take up a shit tonne of space if you add too many add-ons.
Thanks for the help, but I need something even simpler than Jooma or Mambo, which I have already tried. I tried searching google for snews but cannot find anything, is there a specific site that has the download?
I use Dragonfly and love it. I have tried both Joomla and Mambo and never got on with them. Dragonfly is a spinoff from nuke.
www.cmsmadesimple.org One of the networks I work with uses cmsms now, and personally I love it... except for the lack of a real blogging option. But it looks like they may have recently posted a fix to that, so I'll have to play with it a bit. Jenn
take a look at blognewscms.com - I will be releasing it in a few days time. While not free, it is very cheap. It is lightweight (30k) no database, easy to skin, It is All about the content and having the ability to skin it to look like the rest of your site with the minimal amount of fuss and of course syndicate the content with RSS and a headlines feature. And yeah, I needed something to post a few small items to one of my own sites every few weeks and couldn't justify installing Joomla - where was the sense in installing something that was several hundred K in size to post about 500 words every 2-3 weeks!
Do you post only once in 2-3 weeks ?? What the hell purpose for doing a website if that's only the use?? Do we just need to post a word?? We need more than that, just because you just code your own cms doesnt mean that others will be 100% satisfied with your work, we need more than just post a content, if your cms is just for that purpose, i doubt it will success.
