Beware of Name.com's .info renewal fee

I was just popping by Name.com and noticed they were doing .info's for $1.99, which is pretty good considering all domains registered with Name.com come with free whois privacy protection. The thing is though, it costs you $9.99 to renew it for every year after your first, not so appealing now is it? Thought I'd just give you the heads up. You can see all pricing info at https://www.name.com/pricing.php

    O rly?

I don't think $9.99 is the normal renewal fee for .info's mate, .com renewals are cheaper than that.

godadaddy now has $0.99 for new .info registration.
Almost everyone gives offers for the first year registration only and renewals are always high.

godaddy has .info for $0.99 , so why go for other domain registrars to register that for a price below $2.

Yes, name.com has free whois protection. I have registered all my domains from them. i love their services.
and Its very simple to get your domain from name.com, good user interface. But godaddy's page is cluttered and confusing.

It's a promotion by the .INFO registry. Cheap registrations, but normal renewals.

That's why you need to sell them within the first two to three months of registration, if not you should develop them and sell them.

Is $9.99 a lot for a domain name for a whole year?

$0.84 a month come on people.

After a year those websites should be earning you money.

Godaddy has a .99 cent renewal fee. Name.com does this because many .info domains are used for spamming and phishing.
