Yahoo doesn't count clicks after 8pm PST, or counts very, very little ...

I have noticed recently that Yahoo doesn't count clicks after 8pm PST, or counts very, very little. It is next to impossible not to have any clicks after their updates around 8pm. This happened for at least the last 4-5 days since I started paying attention.
I might go to Google instead.

Look at your server log reports on an hourly basis. I think you will find that your traffic drops off very significantly after a specific point in the day. I use AdSense, however, I have found that over half of my daily revenue can come between 8am and 1 pm Eastern time and about 80% of it come between 8am and 6 pm Eastern time.

It is simply a matter that so many more people have access to the Internet from work/school then they do from home and that in the evening people are doing other stuff.

It could also be that advertisers are reaching their daily advertising budget and thus lower quality/fewer ads are being shown in the evening.

I use a tracking software and they count all clicks. You could add a tracker if you think they aren't. 8pm PST is when it starts slowing down as the East Coast is in bed.

Here's yesterday's clicks from a site (which matched YPN totals):

    12am 0

    1am 5

    2am 3

    3am 13

    4am 4

    5am 5

    6am 21

    7am 23

    8am 36

    9am 54

    10am 41

    11am 59

    12pm 47

    1pm 28

    2pm 37

    3pm 28

    4pm 30

    5pm 36

    6pm 37

    7pm 38

    8pm 24

    9pm 18

    10pm 9

    11pm 18

I actually think that they DO NOT count clicks at night. For some reason I get a few thousand impressions at night, and then I dont even have clicks, its really weird :(

Actually I'm starting to have the same problem. Before, I used to double whatever I make by 5PM. Now, hardly... It slows down, for sure.

PS: Most of my traffic comes from 8PM to 2AM.

I highly doubt that they don't count clicks after 8PM PST. Yes, things slow down then because many people are in bed by that time on the east coast.

I use no geo targeting, but then again most of my traffic is american. Its all natural search engine traffic, one of the reasons they have told me to not worry about it.

LOL think about it people. Yahoo and google allows companys to turn off their ads at night or at non peak times. This allows them to target better.

Who wants a click for real estate in nevada or car insurance in alaska at 3AM ? Even if they get the click its very unlikely that it will be a valid consumer looking to buy. So in this case they only run the ads during peak bussiness hours. The time people are looking to buy.

Also yahoo and google allow for a MAX per day spending. Many advertisers daily budget runs out by 8PM or so. So you end up with less ads on your site after 8PM.

I'm on the east coast, and I will tell you that my traffic slows down after 12 pm EST...people go to bed. Isn't that around the time you are seeing a slow down?

On all of my sites I have the largest traffic spike at 11pm eastrn time. I notice the same thing during the day I get a large amount of clicks and at night I get nothing really. All together I get over 30k uniques a day. I can tell when the spike hits because my logs, valuclick and my stat tracker goes crazy. All in all Im happy though because YPN still pays better then Adsense.
