I am a 35 year old male married father of one internet entrepreneur looking for a mentor to show the ropes of making money online. I currently have 3 blogging sites making small amounts. I am looking to learn more about monetizing sites and bringing in traffic. My goal is to be able to work from home and spend more time with my wife and daughter. contact Mike email - racefly@gmail.com
There are no short cuts. It is not a get rich quick idea. Spend hours and hours - days and weeks - reading this forum and other related sites (seobook, shoemoney, seomoz, etc.) 95% of what the so-called "pros" do is on the web - the other 5% mostly comprised of relationships that provide authority links. You might get a lot of scammers who will offer their services, but the people making real money aren't going to walk someone through what takes years and years to develop. The simple answer is: Build a site that is the best in what it offers when compared to the competition. When you have the best site, the promotion to drive traffic will be a lot easier than trying to market some crap site that was thrown together to try and make a fast buck. It's all about getting traffic to a site. There are tens of thousands of people who live outside the US where a dollar is worth 10x or 50x what it is worth to you. They are all trying to get their sites ranked, drive traffic to their site - and only a small percentage make enough to be considered a good living in the US. Plan on working very hard for at least a year - and if you aren't willing to give it a year of hard work, you should probably consider doing something else.
Mike, first of all welcome back! Now let's get down to business. The money is in affiliate marketing, you can read this forum but there are a few others that might suit you better. Look up affiliate marketing forums and I am sure you will find some starting with answering your questions. I also recommend looking up other people's blog's who might or maybe not be doing. I also recommend time management, really sit down with yourself and write out a schedule so that you don't get stuck in the realm of research and forums. Get a timer so that you can really discipline yourself. There are a few programs that help you but I recommend rescuetime.com (Free software that helps you track how much time you are spending on the computer) Try not to take on so many things all at once. Try to put as little money into it as you can. It's better to not to lose money if you don't have any. I also think you might really benefit from listening everyday, take time for yourself to get lost in a motivational speaker. I urge you to go on to Youtube and look up ways to stay motivated. There are some great speeches out there. You are bound to get discouraged a time or two. Stick to your time alloted (It's one of the fastest people tend to burn out. When low on cash, offer as much service as you possibly can Be sure to offer something lucrative or a better selling angle. Offer as much as you know, that you think someone might need. As you want that to maybe come back to you. Network with like minded people, you will know the ones that aren't genuine verses the ones that are really to make a serious income from whatever it is they are doing online. I wish you the best, JAM
Frankly speaking, there is no such thing as guru willing to teach you all the knowledge they have to you. What i suggest you is learn from your own coz this is the best way and you will gain more knowledge by this.
Like fellow mjewel told you, there are no shortcuts, you just need to learn more and more, read, hang around the forums, and actually do what you read.. Lot of ppl will offer you "their services" just to take the money out of your pocket..
If you want long term money then don't use any short cut. Just use hours and hours on internet any Ultimately you will make money.
For instant cash but with high risk/reward ration try ppc. For long term results and much more security try seo. For both advantages, try both of them.
If you have the blog existing for at least there months, you can do sponsored reviews for the meantime...give me a hit and I will give you a guide on this.
This forum is one big mentor, no mentor will ever be able to tell you half of the information that has been posted here in this forum!
I totally agree with this. I will just say what the others have said, not just read around any old topics. But make lits of Keywords such as SEO, CPM etc and try to summarize what they mean so that you can understand them better.
