Survive these tests and the world is at your mercy Check your site at SiteReportCard: Web Site Optimization and Promotion Tools and keep tweaking until you get 'perfect' on all checks.
That site is a laugh and a half. It finds "errors" in webpages that have passed the W3 Markup Validation Service. They set the standards that all others rely on. The spelling dictionary is a JOKE. Out of hundreds of misspellings it found, only ONE was invalid, and the correction for that one invalid misspelling is supposedly invalid itself.
I just ran it against some sites running our custom cms and it seems to have worked fine. It will be virtually impossible for the spell checker to be spot on given various geographical issues but... all in all it reported everything accurately. All I would suggest out of the gate is some poofy looking web 2.0ness and a bit of ajax perhaps. It looks a bit early 90's hope that helps and good luck, Nigel
That 's a good tool, although the spelling is way off the mark. I've made some useful improvements (especially in reducing the size of graphics) on my site.
NONE of the hundreds of "misspelled" words were geographical. All were COMMON everyday English words, words that are everywhere. Example: "Transaxle" which is defined here: Definition of "Transaxle" Note the number of webpages that come up with "transaxle" on them: Google search found 956,000 pages. I checked other "misspelled" words and we are talking MILLIONS of hits in Google AND all with definitions on Wikipedia. Like I said, the spell-checker is a joke.
