Yes mate - I have an SEO blog set-up only one week back - but I'll not reveal it.:p
It has only one post of a case study that I am documentating the SEO result of one of my site. Although - I have been in the industry for more than 3 years - I keep my understanding just to myself.
Its too risky to take a plunge into the web marketing as SERPs on all SEs are changing by seconds:(

So - I just worry about my results rather than bothering about any 3rd party.

I do post on SEO/Google forums when I think I should post.:)

Thanks for the link to matt's twitter. I actually am not asking about if it's really PR5 or not, I can check this myself. I was referring to this statement :

SO, anyone know it it's true or not?

    Never mind.
B'coz Matt Cutts or anybody from Google will never reveal it.

But from what Matt says - we can assume that -- YES - we know its the truth.

www.phpbb.com was once PR9 - now PR5 for nearly 18 months b'coz it sold links.

www.linux.org - everybody knows what LINUX is - and what importance it is--

It met the same fate at the same time of phpbb. :(

(Check archive of both sites for May/June-2007 -- don't know why LINUX is not showing archive results of those days but here it is for phpbb-- http://web.archive.org/web/20070607035326/http://www.phpbb.com/ check right side bar)

So is the case with Google.jp .

Although no official confirmation ( we can take the confirmation from Matts statements though) - Google.jp has been penalized of PR for buying/selling links.:)

May just because google.jp headers forwarding to google.co.jp

    As back to 12/4/2006
    www.dmoz.com has PR7
    dmoz.com has PR6
    dmoz.org has PR9

Now today both dmoz.com and dmoz.org all PR8

I think the PR of google.jp and google.co.jp will be changed again soon or updated next time.

My friend is waiting for (9+5)/2=7 just joking.

What is the point of penalising their subsidiary in the first place?

BS, does it even matter for them? Are there earnings in any way affected by the page rank. An honest apology would've been much better.

Really its a tight slap for google.
A topper is not always a topper, google should do something regarding this situation.

In an effort to scare more webmasters into using there "No follow" on there sites for
fear they will get penalized for the paid links sells. Surly you must be trembling knowing
they did this to there own site so you had best hurry and add no follow before you get
the same happen to you..

BOO.... are ya scared yet? :p

Just get rid of the toolbar page rank and you wont have these issues and or force
others to jump threw hoops for your algo...

Make pages primarily for users, not for search engines

I thinks its automated, but does the drop in pagerank really affect google? I mean are they not going to be number one when someone searches for google?
