Why IE has more users?

IE is the worst MS product ever made. I cant believe people still use it.

 

Usage of IE clearly signifies monoply of MS.

 

Its the default browser of windows.. and most of the users start using internet, with internet explorer.. so many of them stick to it.

 

this is because it have come a long with the OS.
And there's also a bunch of people that thinks IE is the only way to get on internet.
or maybe they were too lazy to download the firefox/opera/safari

 

Why shouldn't people use IE? As long as they're applying all security patches it's alright.

 

College , Hostels , Offices & Organization uses IE and around 68% on the Globe Internet is being used by these.

That depends upon the Speed of your PC.

 

For technical issues. Most users are unaware of the grief involved making standard code work in IE. It is 11 years behind all other web browsers in standard support and developers must use sledge hammers and fire to make things work in it. The last ecommerce site I worked on required 50% more hours to make things work in IE that worked nearly perfectly the first time in every other browser.

We web developers despise IE. It holds back the web. Incapable of handling every day activities (or what should be every day) such as true XHTML served as XHTML, the DOM, SVG, MathML, proper javascript support, proper CSS support and more. IE8, when it comes out, will only catch up to where browsers have been years before.

It is the only browser that has tens, if not hundreds of web sites, dedicated to nothing else but IE fixes. It's the subject on every related blog and magazine.

Save us developers and do NOT use IE....Please!!

 

Have this been brought up yet? EU + Firefox + Opera is suing Microlulz for intergrating IE with Windows.

 

I guess you made it you niche.

 

It comes installed in computers and people don't bother changing.. like me.

 

Or probably don't know how to download and install something. For noobs, installing something is one of the Major Tasks they can perform

 

most people dont like change, and Microsoft was smart enough to get their software out there early enough

 

well once computers come with linux as a default then firefox would be used more!.

 

This shows that the number of basic users is more than the advanced users.

 

IE is sent and default browser with Windows package and more than 90% of people are using Windows OS .

 

Yeah its bundled software mate.

Same way Wii Sports has become the highest selling console game of all time - It's bundled with the Wii.

then why isnt MSN the most used search engine since it's part of IE?

 

I think the reason is simply because more of the less advanced computer people aren't aware that there are other Internet browsers out there. They just use the default one that comes with Windows. I'm sure if they knew about firefox and all the others IE would never be used again.
