also include your keywords in your domain name - yahoo puts a lot more emphasis on this than google does...

    example:

    keyterms: houston lawyers
    yahoo results:
    http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=houston+lawyers&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8
    Code (markup):
see how many front page results include these specifc keyterms in the domains

    6/10

i see this more and more now....

I also think you need back links from other sites.

Just like google, yahoo also prefers good content, good backlinks. In addition, you can try Yahoo Answers if your site is in some niche that can help yahoo answers users. It will give you free backlinks as well as targeted traffic.

Does adding your site to Yahoo My Bookmarks help?
    Anybody know?
They are supposedly "public" if you so choose.

    To some it up:

    1. Domain Name should contain the keyword.
    2. More backlinks
    3. onPage SEO
    4. Good Metatags
    5. Submit Sitemap to Yahoo
    6. Get Listed on Yahoo! Directory
    7. Use Yahoo! Services such as Yahoo! Answers, Yahoo! Buzz, Yahoo My Bookmarks!
    8. Good Content

    Are these really useful?
