How did you first learn SEO?

I learn it from reading a lot of blogs and by participating on forums.

 

patience is what matters - if you want a shockwave success you will experience very soon a disastrous fall - so take your time be alert and up to date...intuition counts.

also my advice - don't depend on one traffic source - optimize for many so you will be strong and independent...

I learned seo through reading of a lot of seo resources from forum and other relevant sites.

 

You just concentrate on DP and you will know the difference ...

I think SEO is all about gaining real time experience with search engines and their behaviours

 

i was trained at one of my previous companies.

 

I learned everything here on DP. Majority of it I learned from a very helpful and respected member who was very generous and asnwered every single question I had.

xD : DP is not the best place to learn SEO, there is so much misinformation on the site and there's plenty of useless tips on here too.

I first learnt about SEO when I wanted to setup and promote a simple gaming website when I was younger. Then I tried to figure out how to rank lots of mini money making sites.

Now in my job I learn by simply trying everything I can think of and monitoring the results.

You learn about SEO from reading. You only learn SEO by doing it.

 

Mostly blogs for me. I'll read an article about SEO then try to figure out how to do it and spend a lot of time and usually frustration trying to get it right, especially with learning coding.

DP is a great resource too.

 

i read a lot of BS e-books but learnt more from trial and error - over a very very very long period of time!

thing is with seo you always have to keep learning and researching!

think out of the box too!

 

i think this forums site is popular in webmasters, so if anyone tries to give wrong info someone would retort for it. and he wil suggest right way to go on. after getting all peoples suggestion a questioner finally gets exact answer...

 

I learned nearly everything from SEO to affiliate marketing here. This place is my main cause of analysis paralysis!

i'm learning from some my online friend till they intoduce me to DP forum. from here i found the useful and great information regarding the SEO. then i have a lot of free SEO ebook and still learning till now even i have knowledge about the web developing.

I read a lot of posts/books, however be careful who you listen to there are quite a few people that will steer you down a bad path just to make a quick buck. There is a book i like, and you can get for free called the seo mindset which is a good start.

Also keep in mind, its usually easier to build a site from the ground up with SEO then try and get one up to snuff that has hundreds of articles (trust me I'm doing that now)
