Stolen phpLinkBid Licenses -- very important!

Due to an increasing number of phpLinkBid sites running our script illegally, we are once again forced to take legal action against many users we identified. This is a final warning about our strict license policy. If you didn't pay for your phpLinkBid license, you are running an illegal site.

phpLinkBid piracy hurts every single paying customer and damages the quality and future of our script. Help us keep phpLinkBid strong and stop the scammers that are stealing your business and hurting bid directories.

Licensed phpLinkBid Users - Please help us by reporting piracy if you know of an unlicensed site. The process is completely anonymous and takes just a minute. Please pass the word along to your fellow phpLinkBid Webmasters and directory owners, and urge others to play fair.

Unlicensed phpLinkBid Users - Buy a license, or shut the site down until you can afford one. We are executing a zero tolerance policy. Even if you are located outside of the US, using phpLinkBid puts you and your Web host in US jurisdiction.

To make it even easier, a single site license is only $22.46 right now with coupon "FROSTY".

This is the last warning before we take the next step to shut down each and every unlicensed site and call out the site owners publicly. I really dislike having to do this, but piracy causes a lot of damage. It's easy to help:

    Order phpLinkBid: http://www.phplinkbid.com/order.php

    Report Piracy: http://www.phplinkbid.com/piracy.php

Thank you very much for your attention.
    Gabe

Just curious m8, have you contacted the pirates personally or will you suddenly surprise them with accusation?

I will always try to contact the site owner directly first. Chasing Web hosts and dealing with lawyers is the last thing I want to spend my time & energy doing. But some people just don't care and want a free ride, and I'll do everything necessary to ensure that their lack of judgment doesn't hurt our legitimate users any more than necessary.

Thanks. We're not very strict compared to most companies. I always try to give people a chance to make it right. Considering that people are stealing my work with total disregard, this is really more than I should be doing.

We do try to report all torrents and other such listings, and thanks for the tip. Any other thoughts welcome.

Thanks! I just wish people weren't so greedy we wouldn't be in this position. I'd rather be writing cool software and helping my customers than chasing down shady webmasters.

This isn't always obvious but if you suspect a site, we will research it before taking any action. Many unlicensed sites are using v1.2, which is very old now and most legit users would have upgraded.

Another common sign is when someone is trying to sell a brand new phpLinkBid directory with no footer link/linkroll links, little content, especially on a PR domain and they do not explicitly state a license is part of the sale. If you ever approach a buyer asking about the license and they do not include a license as part of the sale, it is 99% of the time an illegal sale.

I'll keep an eye out here. I often ask in sales threads in DP and SP marketplace if the license is included.

Much appreciated. Looks like SP is already getting at least one infringement notice from us today. I feel really bad for the people who buy these sites and get screwed.

Just goes to show - always verify license ownership before buying a Website with a commercial script - not just for phpLinkBid but any script really.

I have question, how to transfer licence after selling a phplinkbid directory? I sold one last year and didn't do anything.

Thanks for asking. Just submit a ticket to support center with the license ID and email address on your phpLinkBid account. We will need the registered email address for the new owner (they can create an account here if they don't have one).
