Is yahoo worth it

It seems the costs are the same as google but the results are quite worst. Is this true or is it just me?

It depends on what you are marketing.

I've had good results in some markets with yahoo and bad results with others.

In general cost per click is lower but so is search volume , in my experience.

It all comes down to testing and tracking.

i think Yahoo! search marketing is not that effective as that of Google. it is better to go for AdWords.

it's worth trying, but be sure you are tracking results very carefully.

Google give better conversion results in my experience, but if you have enough roi you can copy your adwords campaign to yahoo, spend more per click and get worse conversions, but still make a profit our of it.

YSM do not care of your ctr as google does, you get a position based only on your bids, wich make it a ppc engines that favour big budgets. And it is indeed more xpensive than google.

Just try it, but dont expect it to work as well as adwords. You also wont be able to use the offline editor, because there is none for YSM. And that is lame.

The thing with YSM, is that their audience/clientele/crowd/surfers are very different than google.. I have seen some products convert better on yahoo, and some better on google.

However the only way to find out is to test it out :D

It depends on your end goals. But if you are able to overcome these problems, then why not give it a try on Yahoo! The problems include:

    • Inefficiency to scale
    • Poor market research tool
    • Complicated financial system
    • Difficulties on campaign management
    • Inadequate reporting

Or take the look at the details of each problem:

Yahoo can somewhat be difficult in terms of just wanting to receive search engine traffic. They do not currently have an option like Google where you can turn off advertising on network and content websites therefore you may be paying for traffic which does not qualify you spend.

Actually, they do. You can change it in the "Tactic settings" under "Administration" tab. Or in the campaign/ad group settings if you want turn off content only for some campaigns/ad groups.

I prefer adwords because yahoo doesn't allow to use exact matches.

I am new to making money online so I have started with Google adsense. Once I feel I have learned enough I will branch out and try yahoo.

I think it really comes down to what you are marketing. I have had good luck with Adwords when I was trying to sell physical products but I had much better luck with Yahoo when I was trying to sell a service.

However, I would say that lately Yahoo hasn't been so kind. Hope this helps.

Yahoo! and Google I find are very similar when it comes to the bottom line price per lead/ conversion. If you take into account the volume for both and the conversions rates they should be about the same just less clicks, less, impressions, and less conversions because of the lower yahoo viewer base.

I think google gets more clicks, as they show more relevant content.
