I am a newbie to Clickbank and have been waiting a few days for a response from them about taxes being applied to my digital product. Can aynoe help - is their something I should have clicked? I am in Canada (go sens), so don't really think US taxes apply.

    Thanks

The taxes do apply because ClickBank is considered the retailer. If you read the Clickbank FAQ, when you make a Sale, Clickbank is actually buying the product from you at a wholesale price (92.5% of your actual price less $1) and then selling it at full price to the customer. As ClickBank is the retailer, and they do business all over, they collect taxes where applicable, like New York State, and the VAT tax over in Europe. I sell products all over, and every country seems to have a slightly different final commission amount.

If it is earned, there is tax of it-the rule #34 of finance :D

If you do a search around in this section, you'll find Norb and a few others have posted incredibly detailed info as to taxation from canada (to the point where I wished I was from there :|). One would also recommend you talk to an accountant and/or lawyer and get your doubts cleared or your thoughts will gang on you when you least expect.
