    Short Answer: no

Long Answer: Yes, there may be some payoff here, but in the long run is this really how you want to present yourself? By associating with stuff like this, you could make a permanent mark on your name, and when you try to sell something legit, and people find out about this, they likely won't buy from you or hire from you.

Is this something you want a future employer to find? Nothing disappears on the internet, and people can (even inadvertently) find things you won't want them to.

Not to mention legal ramifications from doing it. All in all, it doesn't seem worth the money to me.

    Of course its okay....

There are no police throwing hackers in jail...the FBI doesn't cornhole idiot hackers and screw them so they can never own a computer...

so go ahead put yourself at risk of having a 6'6" 300lb man named arsefugger as your cellmate...

Ohh and any time somone says

    "my firend blah blah blah"

its really you.... who you are talking about.....

well if you're going to do it, target those that are new on the hacking forums that exist... personally i'd steer clear, but if you wish to be known for selling hacking software, that's the best place to start

The problem is that people who use hacking software don't want to pay for apps.. It's hard to monetize this type of software. If your product is great, one of them will buy it and send it to all his friends.

I don't think it is illegal to market a hacking software, though the ethics portion is a different matter. As what is said above, it wouldn't be easy to sell to the hackers' community. There are lots of hackers who can program anything and everything. Your target customers will normally be those script hackers which I doubt have much purchasing powers. I guess there are certainly more products that are worthy of consideration rather than selling hacking software. The potential litigation issues is another consideration too.

Well, there are lots of softwares available for the same. Most of the people who want it, download it from internet for free and never want to pay for it. While I was in college, I used a remote keylogger to get the keystrokes of every Computer in my college. I also made a trojan to control the PC. Anyways, it was college time when we really wanted to show off by doing all sorts of stuff. In my opinion, such softwares are hardly used for ethical purposes. And there's hardly any market for such softwares as I believe that the market for keylogger and similar products is saturated.

Keyloggers are legal. There's no harm in this IMO, but again, if the reputation bothers you then don't do it...
