A fanatical right-wing group notorious for creating communal tensions and indulging in moral policing has struck again in Karnataka, Mangalore pub assault. This time assaulting women guests at a bar in Mangalore. The activists of Sri Rama Sena entered a pub on Saturday evening and threatened the women sitting inside. The men, who took objection to women drinking alcohol, pushed them outside, many women falling to the ground while they were being driven out. Pramod Mutalik who heads the little known local group called the Sri Ram Sena (Army of Lord Ram) in the southern state of Karnataka. Public and media outrage over the attack is growing and almost 30 people have been arrested so far. Mr Mutalik says it is "not acceptable" for women to go to bars in India. Speaking prior to his arrest, he said: "What my men did was right. The media is using this small incident to malign the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) government in the state." For the past two days, he has argued that Saturday's assault on the women was justifiable because his men were preserving Indian culture and moral values. While your skin color might not be the same, and your culture is very different, it doesn't give you the right to deliberately try to pick a fight over an obviously inappropriate act. To answer your question, you haven't seen anyone condemn this act because you've posted the thread first (duh). P.S. I find it atrocious that I haven't seen you condemn the acts of Charles Manson lately, since he has white skin he obviously speaks for all white people in America doesn't he? First of all, I'm not an American and I have no knowledge about Charles Whatever, So educate me, and I'll condemn if required. Second, The incident happened on Saturday, So there was plenty of time for them to post and condemn the act. It is all over the news. But obviously they give a damn to whatever happens to their women. Third, If it was something done by Muslims anywhere in the world, there would have been a lot of sing and dance (and cry) drama going on right here, in P&R. Fourth, as usual I don't see a single word of condemnation from your mouth, you chose to post, attack my character instead, but not a word for the women who were beaten and molested in broad daylight by a group of Hindu Talibani hooligans. But of course, why would you? I mean I see you very vocal against Islamic terrorism, atrocities etc etc in every possible thread. And this is not done by Muslims so why would you condemn it? And all the arrested culprits got out on bail in no time at all. None of the victims are bold enough to approach the police as they are afraid of the goons. Again, they kidnapped a hindu girl while traveling in bus yesterday for talking to a muslim boy. As this girl is the daughter of a powerful politician she has filed a report and some people are arrested so far. Any time the rich and powerful gets involved in any crime in India, they get away with it. This is true about religious/cultural fanatics too.
Crazy fellows with lot of time on their hands looking for cheap publicity which they are getting. Police should throw the book at them and lock them up for a long time.
I also read in the papers that the same hooligans are planning to ruin Valentine's day Celebrations in India. We'll have to wait to see how the law-enforcing agencies hadle them on V-Day. By the way, who gave these guys the right to interfer in other people's personal lives? And, why are certain sections of Indians supporting these "moral polices"?
Now when people of Karnataka have voted for BJP government, it is but obvious that such sick people will raise their head and will try to malign the image of Hinduism in front of the world. These idiots are not Hindu, they are bunch of useless people who want to derive advantage out of the BJP rule. No need to show sympathy for people who themselves chose to go with BJP
