I know about plenty of simple linkbuilding techniques for blogs and sites with good content, but what about small nisch-sites made to make money? It's difficult to get backlinks from forum when you have 40-50 sites to get backlinks to. Link directories is also difficult because they usually don't like this kind of sites. My question for you is, which method do you use for small nisch-sites?
If we exclude forums, link directories, contest, link exchange, articles, social bookmarking, blogcomments and give away things for free. What's left?
I own a couple of highly targeted niche sites. My best advice is provide quality content. If your content is good, most people will be more inclined to link to you. Case in point, I have a friend who use to work for IBM in the Thinkpad marketing group. After he was resourced in a downsizing action, he decided to start doing some online marketing. Because of his knowledge level in the Thinkpad area, he has produced outstanding content. As such, many other sites link to his. He stopped physically trying to build links over year ago. Now, it basically happens automatically, and they are one way links. I'm no expert, this is just my .02 worth on the topic.
* Do some decent article writing - make sure you use a relevant title, to show other related sites that it is, well, releated! * Start a blog (if you dont have one) on your site, and try to get some decent, well known people from the industry to interview... then pop out a press release on a google news approved site about the interview... The above 2 should be a start...
Article marketing creates high PR 'forever' linking and human traffic to your websites. But you need to SEO your website with quality pre-selling squidoos where you can create lenses for every long-tail keyword you want. Then combine the best of both worlds, and create and submit articles with two links in the bio box, one to your squidoo for that article keyword and one link to your website. Here are my favourite article directories: www.ezinarticles.com www.articlealley.com www.articlebase.com www.articlecube.com www.goarticles.com www.a1articles.com www.articlecity.com www.ideamarketers.com www.articledashboard.com www.easyarticles.com www.articlesnatch.com www.free-article-directory.com www.selfgrowth.com Along with article marketing, Google Knols, Social Bookmarking etc. etc. you should get some QUALITY high PR7 one way incoming links from creating squidoo pages. Squidoo lets you build pages with article content and links to your sites. Every page you build creates a PR 7 link to your site. Use the squids to create deep linking if your sites have a number of different landing pages, or affiliate products. Best free marketing tool in the world, in fact they pay you to use them by sharing the google ads and other monetization module commissions with you... even 100% of the commissions if you want.. Hope this gives you some ideas
for niche sites, its extremely important to build links where the content around the links is relevant to the niche. hence article mktg might work well. besides that similar content blogs with do follow links (though hard to find) maybe a good idea too. lastly do follow social bookmarking might give you short lived links but will be posted in most relevant categories - might be good for that initial boost.
Forget all the link directories and link exchanges etc... you need quality one way links from themed sites that are either existing or that you build. Make sure they target you keywords in the anchor text and vary the anchor text... so find a set of 2/3 keywords phrases to use. Plan it out before hand and follow your strategy... I keep saying this but you need a plan / strategy to follow to ensure your can track progress.. if you dont have a plan you cannot track and will end up doing your links in batches which looks un-natural to the likes of google.
