I am from Sri Lanaka ! at our country there are only few of fresh copies of GTA IV and many of us use pirated version of GTA IV ! I too uses a Pirated version ! the problem we face is we can't register at social club and live ! there for we cant save the game ! and non of cracks are woking ! all sucks and game atarts to swing ( the protection of RS has activated ) what should we do ! surely we can't buy the original version !
Just buy the real version, and quit using pirated copies. Do not not think that its for a reason you can't use Rockstar features on pirate copies.
There might be some cracks, which would change your game experience. But you will never be able to use its multiplayer version. If you can not find the game in your home country, I think the best way is to buy an original one in an online shop or something. But still GTA for PC has horrible PC optimization. The only way to get the best of it is using its console version. If you have a PS or XBOX, of course.
Thats not completely true A_Aygun, You can mod the PC version so that it'll run better with a decent framerate, with nice looking graphics. it'll even run on one of the old GForce 8800's nicely with some modding.
That's not a good reason to say that this game sucks! My advise, buy it from ebay or play-asia and support the pc gaming.
You can create an offline live id and play it offline , make sure that you have the decent cracked release because of bugs. i have a copy which has no bugs but truely says its sucks. gta vice city is the best game from gta series. ONE OF the major factor that GTA 4 flops this time. Peoples are not sure that their pc can run the game. that;s why they downloaded pirated copy to check the game first before buying. most of them got failed to run it. GTA 4 recommended configuration is too high for now! , if gta 4 was supported in 256 graphic memory then GTA 4 sales may be twice as now. GTA4 Flops because of technical problem.
The 1.2 patch removes many bugs, but it is true that a very high config is needed to play. Plus, the game is so great when you can play it !! This new plot is the best of the series.. I loved it
I have got somewhere a list of tweaks to make to gta 4 to get it to run smoothly on an Gforce8800 with decent graphics and fps, when I find it I'll post the details.
Well maybe like it isn't working because you have pirated it ! How does that mean that the game sucks ! By the sound of it you haven't even played it yet ! Try the real version and let me know ! Good Luck !
