HD/DivX Video Hosting/Sharing Website

Overview:
This website is just over a month old and generating a revenue, it was built after stage6.com closed to cover the gap that satge6 left behind. The simplest way to describe this website is something mixed between rapidshare.com and stage6.com. 6550 registered users in about a month. No advertising was done, word of mouth got this up and running in a couple of days, if I kept this site I would invest some money to get some right ups done to boost its traffic. This website is a great investment.

Description:
User has the ability to upload videos in the .divx or .avi video formats, the site then generates a DivX player and embedded code (link back to site added) for the user to embed to websites, blogs, forums or watch it directly from the website. All links to video files are hidden so no-one can leech and use up valuable bandwidth without coming to site or at least getting credit for it. Website averages between 4000 -9000 unique visits a day / 8000-18000 page views a day.


Technical:
This website runs off 4 dedicated servers ($600/mo) 1 for the script files (a shared server can also be used) and 3 dedicated file sharing servers. The company I am using is meant for these type of websites and can easily buy more server when needed.


Revenue Details:
earned about 1000$ from adbrite and google last month, also earned 150$ from adbrite but stopped that after about 7 days.

I am currently using adsense and clicksor. Great potential to monetize the website further:


1. Paid premium accounts added yesterday

2. Under each video ads can be added , this code is hidden so if someone posts on their website it will display your ads/user cannot remove this. Currently I have this with a link back to the website so it generates back links.

3. Extra services can be added, example would be to host videos for different companies needing to host and display HD videos, benefits of using this sites services are large hosting, fast and secure connections for video serving. Fully customisable, if you don’t have programming skills, I can do this for you. The sky is the limit!

Traffic Details:
a few write ups have been done for the site (not paid). Linking in from a number of blogs and forums as well as websites that have embedded videos on there websites (each embedded video has a back link to the website)

a few people have been asking about copyright issues, there are several users that try to upload movies thats why i had to cap the upload to 300mb for registered users. Premium users can upload 1gb files at a time these files are easy to locate via the admin panel because these files are usually the ones that have the most traffic. please also see Copyright Policy and terms of service on the site for more info.
