What is your goal? Is it to make 10$ , 100$ or even 1000$? Well unless you have popular websites with boatloads of traffic don't even dream about it. If your intention is only to make money without providing users with interesting website and good experience then forget about it. Only big guys can reach those goals who make thousands and even tens of thousands of dollars. If you don't own such sites then forget about it. One last thing - don't waste your money on any AdSense related books. Everything comes from experience.
So you are saying people that hve books about adsense don't have the experience required to write them, is that it?
Those big guys used to be small guys too, if you're a small guy you just have to work hard and you'll get there.
Exactly what can these Adsense ebooks teach you that you can't learn on such forums as DP?! Most top earners will have no interest in selling their secret recipe... especially for a dollar at a time in an ebook. Maybe at an expensive conference perhaps, but you just get the idea that most of these Adsense ebooks come from people that aren't even making serious money. Perhaps their income will stream from the ebook sales... but can't see it with Adsense.
I just started earning with Adsense. I have played around with it for two years, but finally found out where to put the ads and am using default google palette. That seems to help my click rate. Finally, I started using online classifieds services to drive targeted traffic to my site. In the past 2 years my current earnings are $120 but for the month of February alone it is over $50. This is just a nickels worth of free advice, but I never did make anything using the leaderboard ads. I place two 250X250 rectangles at the top of my page. That is all of the adsense ads that I use and it does pay off. And no, there is no need in spending money on material that is offered freely on this forum. I really hate to read those salespages guaranteeing your success spending money on their products. I used to be the gullible one who bought that junk too. And it is just that, junk. For the most part, you are paying $47 or more for something that people will be glad to help you with for free.
You gotta start out somewhere. Starting with small, possibly worthless sites is a great way to get experience in the field.
It's not about big or small. It's about having a plan. Building a site that brings in traffic and keeps them coming back. Figuring out an advertising or other revenue model is something you do BEFORE you build. The average webmaster makes about $50 a month from adsense. How do you figure that? You take the amount of money google says it pays out each year and divide by the number of participating webmasters. It really means nothing other than Adsense is NOT a big money maker for most people.
i am just trying to get back to $100 a month, like i was before. then after that ill make a new goal.
My target is at least $200 a month, anything less than that is really not worth the effort as it would be more profitable taking a paper round
I am still trying to figure that one out 3 years into the game. I have several sites that I put what I think is quality content on them but can't seem to get the visitors that I aim for. However, I have successfully started getting between 500-5000 page impressions per day on one of my sites. The site is earning between 8-12 from Google alone, not counting the ebay and commission junction links that are there. I am happy that I am finally making that. Before, I was only getting between $1 - $5 per month if that. So, I am excited to finally be earning money with Google Adsense. Maybe someday, I can earn $100 or more per day with it too. I did find out that the adsense channels has a lot to do with the amount of money per click though.
I made a full time living out of using Adsense and Adsense only (to start with). I'm not one of these mega publishers but I scrape together a nice 4 figure some each month. I come from a techy background so a lot of what I did seemed like common sense to me but to many people that are trying to make money online the foundation knowledge just ins't there. That's where books, blogs and forums like these can come in handy. I think most people would be wiser to concentrate on material related to "getting more traffic" rather than "earning more with Adsense" because at the end of the day that's how the real money is made. You can tweak your ad format all you like but if you're not getting the traffic you're stuffed. It's why I don't really bother much with Adsense on new sites anymore. If you struggle to get much traffic then in my experience there are many better ways of getting value from that traffic than Adsense.
To achieve as high as possible on the earnings and to come up with a website which you are proud to own whereby visitors like it and they come back often for new stuff.
