Can someone explain this to me

When i goto forums (ie digitalpoint) for example they show a rank of pr5 ,6 or whatever on my google tool bar but once i click on a post and get inside the post they show no pr......the pr doesnt even register a 0.........all forums seem to be like this ....does this mean the post has pr0?

anyway downloading the seo version of firefox is a great help or any newbie out there.

dofollow and pr are completely different things. When a link is nofollow, the tag has a rel="nofollow" attribute. With the seo for firefox addon it highlights any nofollow links for you. On forums most posts are PR0. If posts eventually get some other links they might get pr in time.

dont forget that threads wit posts dont stay open for ever so if they have pr the thread might have been closed so you cant make any new posts

It will be pretty rare to find post with PR and you could post, see spam, a link in to gain serp.

PR takes some time to be assigned, it is not instant.

Most of the posts you read are new, so they will be gray. Just like when you launch a new site, it starts off as gray, and when you add new pages they also are gray.

If you look at some of the older posts on the forum, such as http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13&page=440 -- you will see it is not gray.

I already tried this plugin but I am not having any luck of finding high pr pages that are dofollow.
I think that it needs a lot of luck and perseverance to find one.

PR is different for all the pages.

Let say a domain have 100 pages and the main domain got PR5. All the internal pages will have a combination of PR n/a - more.. Usually, new pages will be pr n/a.
