Difference between link farm and cross link

hello friends,

i am bit confused between link farm and cross link? can anyone clear the differnece for me?

Link Farm: Free For All links. These are places that allow anyone to add a link..
Cross Link: When a group of domains that are most often owned by the same individual inner links to each other. This is often for the purpose of increasing its popularity with search engines.

 

i agree with the definition of Cross link of yours but i am getting the same definition for Link Farm too on Webconfs. I am not able to distinguish between the two

that about sums it up. Be careful with cross linking when you can be identified as the owner of the sites doing the cross linking.

 

...only when the sites are irrelevant. I always cross-link my sites that cater for the same topic.

yes cross linking is the good way to popularize your site in the factor of link building.you can do it as Out in the Open method (OITO Method) & by using Steath Method.
