Anyone know of a good hosting company in Australia? I have seen a few that are around $10/month but you get really nothing for that price!
I pay double that for the hosting that I have but can you advise what you are looking for and what you define as "nothing for that price"? Jonathan
I use a company called ICDSoft, do a google on them as I was not sure if I was allowed to direct link. Sign up for a reseller account and you can buy a domain and host it for a year for about 38USD. Their customer support is amazing. I have asked the most complicated questions at 3 am that you can imagine and in less than 2 minutes they responded with the right answer. Also thanks to their size they give you a ton of free stuff that other hosts charge for.
$10 a month is reasonable budget. If you are not satisfied with your current web host the problem will be probably not your budget. Read some web hosting reviews on webmaster forums, I am sure you will find good web hosting service for the same price.

I would agree, $10/mth for hosting in Australia is real cheap, bandwidth is Australia is easily ten times the cost in USA. It will not be apple to apple comparison if you are taking USA prices. I would say prepare a budget of say $20-50 /mth for a good host in Australia.
Yeap I think you need to think about what you need. Of course speed wise, intra Australia will be fast (mostly). But cost may defeat the advantages of having a fast web site serving Australia only. Do note that overseas users outside Australia won't get it fast. From what I have heard, some parts of USA connects to Australia at quite a good speed and USA hosting is by far the cheapest, you may want to do some investigations.
