I hire someone to build backlinks for my websites. Recently, i've noticed that some of the pages which the links are place on are not in Google's index. Are they worthless, or will they count for something???
Google may takes time to index all the new page. If they aren't indexed by Google, they are worthless. However, they may be index by Yahoo or MSN. You may build some Web 2 properties to get those "backlinks page" being index. IMO, those links place on the page that aren't being indexed can't help much on SEO, or not carrying authority to boost your ranking.
Google shows only a limited number of links on the search engine. However you can check all the links you have using this http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ Or just register you site with Google Webmaster tools to know how many backlinks have been acknowledge by google.
Yes, like google, it takes some time to index the sub sections of your site... or maybe the one that you hired did not work on your site..
Google takes some times to index new pages but this procedure may get assure if you're placing PR links from other websites to your link pages.
if pages are not indexed it doesn't means that they are worthless..tomorrow when links will be indexed they will help!
Non-indexed pages can't help you in SEO but they can drive traffic. And in future once they will get index they can help you in both the manners. So i don't think they are worthless.
If your site is listed deeply on the pages of a web directory, then forget of getting them indexed as it will take ages for Google to index them. If they are just couple of clicks away from the home page of the site, then there are chances to get them indexed.
