How often do you post to your blog? I think it might have something to do with the frequency with which you update it.

But, I just checked google this morning, and it had now indexed my post, and it said it was added 11 hours ago, and I wrote it 12 hours ago. So I guess it probably takes just a little over an hour.

(Does the date that google lists next to the url indicate when the page was last updated, or when the page was last indexed?)

Your welcome. I am glad you like the advice! Like I've said to others sometimes it takes time to pick the right topic but if you get the right one you will get a whole bunch of traffic!

I don't think it has to do with how often you post on your blog. I think it has to do with the amount of pages and how you have your blog setup. Like for my blog I have an auto sitemap updater plugin for Google and I also have it setup to ping all the sites so everywhere knows there is a new post. So my blog posts get indexed within about 20 mins as well.

I think the date indexes the last time the page was indexed by Google. As far as I understand.

Is there a list of sites that can be added to the ping list? Right now I just have the default: "rpc.pingomatic.com"

Also, are you using the WP plugin called "Google XML Sitemaps" or something else?

When you do google trends its usually best to pick the 2nd or 3rd topic on the list. That with Stumpleupon will bring some pretty quick traffic.

    :D Thanks.

I just tried everything out and confirmed that my blog post was indexed by Google in roughly 20 minutes.

I haven't heard of google trends either. Is that a search term or is it a link in our webmaster tools? I'm interested in your approach. :)

Sweet! Glad to hear it worked for you!

Google Trends is something created by Google. What it displays is the latest search trends in their search engine by the hour in the US. Go to google and search for Google trends and it will be the top result. You can take a look and see what people are searching for and then write about those topics.

    Your welcome!
