lol it seems to be going around... all these extremely stupid threads and sales. People must be getting desperate.
The purpose for the IDNs sales records I've post (p=10572338&postcount=13) is like to say that most people can not typing those Chinese, Japanese, Russian, German... by the regular keyboard (It's difficult for Chinese to type Japanese/Russian/German. also difficult for a Japanese use his keyboard to type Russian, German, Chinese...etc.) But, those different languages IDNs still valuable. Symbol domain is part of IDNs, some domainer like it, but mostly not. That's it. PS. this [§.com] was not mine, I bring the 'news' to this forum only.
In a day and age where short domains are desirable, he's got a winner there. Seems like a name Prince might pay $8,000 for!
Yes, the previous owner (not me) was very lucky on this domain - as he registered this domain name about 1 and a half year ago
I had one muppet who emailed me and asked me to buy a co.uk, that he had bought 2 weeks before for £4.00. Wanted £2000. I registered the .com and stuck a site on it just to piss him off. Now some other muppet bought it... and he mailed me too! Every one wants to make a quick buck. I dont mind paying over the odds for a 7 year old domain that was never dropped with a link or two. It just means I spend less on adwords for six months and break out even/
It was a lucky catch. The .net has been registered for some time. I really don't think this domain was worth it, but there have been other IDNs (some people commenting on the tld and it being IDNs have no clue what they are based on the comments) that have sold for xxx, xxx+ that have been worth it. All under covers for now, though. When you get an actual word, there will be a buyer... depending on the keyword (just like asciis). IDNs are meant for localization. If a domain is in unicode characters in a language such as Russian or Japanese, it isn't meant for someone to try and access it who doesn't know how to read in write in the specified language. I actually created a huge IDN information thread here sometime ago. My other account was lost due to a database issue so I'm not sure if it's searchable, but it had a ton of information regarding IDNs. With the new ICANN information release regarding IDN ccTLD fast-track last week, things will definitely get interesting this year (on top of all the traffic coming in to these domains already, when people said they never would years ago).
