Amazon Video Game Store for Sale

I’ve decided that I just do not have the time to build traffic and promote several Amazon affiliate sites that I run, so it’s time to find someone who can. I’m going to start by offering BrainwaveGames.com for sale. This is my newest Amazon site that was just launched in March of 2006. I have not spent any time promoting the site due to my workload with other projects.

This site is built on the most current version of the Freekrai Amazon Store Manager 2 script, but it has been heavily modified and greatly improved over the original. There are no licensing issues with the script. The script uses PHP and REST (REST is used by 80% of Amazon’s affiliates) to pull live data from Amazon’s affiliate server. It does not use a database. If you are a PHP programmer, this is one of the easiest Amazon scripts to modify. You can literally set up a new Amazon store in 3 or 4 hours. Doing the research to find the correct Amazon browse nodes and modifying the home page and logo takes up the biggest chunk of that time.

The current revenue stream for the site is uncertain. I use a shared Amazon affiliate ID for several of the stores, so sales are mixed together. My Amazon commission for last quarter was $536.16 for all ten of my Amazon sites. This is not a huge amount, but I don’t do much to promote the sites. They sink or swim on their own merits. Revenue to date this quarter is down a bit due to lack of attention. Assume little revenue for this site to date.

AdSense revenue is also uncertain, because it is mixed with other sites.

BrainwaveGames.com needs some promotional attention to make it successful.

Traffic is minimal at this point, but growing pretty fast. Here are the Webalizer reports for the site for May and June, and the overview report. There is a lot of spider activity in June, probably due to the directory submissions.

The sale is for the domain name and the set of scripts. The domain is registered at GoDaddy until January 21, 2012. I mistakenly registered this one for a long time period on a special GoDaddy promotion. My mistake is your gain. This alone is probably worth $40 to $50. I think the remaining registration period goes with the domain with a transfer to another GoDaddy account.

PR is currently zero because site is still new and I just recently submitted it to directories. It should pick up some PR on the next update. If you can get a couple of good links to it quickly, that might boost the PR for the next update. I set up the site too late for the last PR update.

Features:

The Best Sellers on the home page are pulled in from Amazon with a script that I wrote and run via a cron job automatically every night. The script is designed to pull in current Amazon Top Ten Sellers for multiple browse nodes and randomly display these products on the Home Page. The data is saved in a text file to avoid the need for a database and to speed up home page rendering. The script can also be run manually. When the script is run, it e-mails a report that lists the top sellers to confirm that the update job ran okay. You can see a copy of the report here: Top Sellers Report

Customized HTML title tag and description meta tags

I just added a feature for customizable content that can easily be added to the top of the browse pages. Click on the Game Boy Advanced link on the menu under Game Hardware for an example.

Room provided for other affiliate programs in the right column under the menu. This is also a good spot for AdSense ads.

Titles on all browse (category) pages are customizable.

Short product feature content added to browse pages beneath each listing.

The search box searches for all Amazon products related to the keywords, so it is not uncommon to see sales for tools on a DVD site or a camera on a sporting goods site.

There are several customizable features built into this script that I will explain to the buyer.

There currently are no duplicates of this game site. Each of my Amazon stores focuses on a different product group or uses a different design

BrainwaveGames.com was recently submitted to over 30 directories.

Requires:

Unix or Linux server running Apache and PHP 4.1 or newer. Your server needs to be able to make external calls to the Amazon server. Most servers do allow this, but some of the free and bargain hosting arrangements do not. I will provide instructions for the setup or can assist. It is pretty simple. If you are a complete newbie with Amazon, I can provide instructions to get you going.

You will need an Amazon Associates ID and an Amazon Subscription ID or AWS Access Key. The Associates ID is used for tracking sales. The Subscription ID or AWS Access Key is a developer ID that allows you to access Amazon’s servers.

You will need an AdSense ID, or I can remove the AdSense ads.
