    1) draft your ad copy
    2) test your ad copy including the headline
    3) look for a service that will distribute your ad to its opt-in subscribers (for example ezines, safelists or email marketing specialized companies).

A good method is to find a competitor with an autoresponder and get all their emails over the course of a month or so. Learn from what they are doing. Choose a good product or service, locate your list (if you don't have full contact data, i.e., name, phone and email, it's not worth owning), and begin to drip slowly on the list. Don't send 10,000 a day, try 500 a day. You can track your bounceback, unsubscribe and click-through rate and decide whether your offer is the right one.

What do you understand by "mail ids"? Email addresses?

If those people opted in to receive your marketing messages, there is no problem to send them as long as you provide in each email a link for unsubscribing from your list.

If they did NOT opt in, then you will become just another spammer

Sure they are. Nothing is perfect ...

    1) you have to learn how to avoid spam filters

    2) you have to take care your host not to allocate to you a blacklisted IP. In such case your email marketing is quite dead.

    3) your host may not allow you to do what you want. Reason? There are some risks for the host too ... Sometimes it happens that a certain idiot subscribes to your list, then forgets, and then starts yelling spam when he receives your emails. If only yells, it's fine. If he reports you to a blacklist, then you have a big problem. Usually blacklists don't ask you anything, don't warn you and don't let you defend yourself. They just blacklist your domain name and IP, and only then you can defend (later, when you see that there is something wrong, waste your time and finally discover that you have been blacklisted). The IP is not yours, is your host IP. And that's the risk for the host.

And there are many disadvantages. And of course there are many advantages :)

Email marketing is a great form of internet advertising, But thei are a few things you need to take into account.

    1 Your email list size.
Do you have thousands of contacts or just a few? When your list gets big, you run the risk of getting your IP Blacklisted. Once this happens, any emails sent from your server go strait into the spam box.

2 Does you host even allow it?
A lot of webhost don't mind small newsletters, But if your sending large email campaigns, most wont allow it on their shared plans.

    3 Are you CANSPAM Compliant?
This is your biggest worry. Are you compliant with all of the laws in your region? Are your contacts all opt-ins or did you purchase your list? Do you have an unsubscribe link in each email?

These are just a few vague things you need to think about when email marketing.

Avoid spamming. It may win you a few clients but cause a larger damage to your reputation. I will be honest to say that I knew no better than spamming before but i learn't my lesson quickly. A lot of my clients come to me requesting e-mail marketing to bought databases. I explain to them how the cons overweight the pros.

Build an opt e-mail list. Get a e-mail managing software.
