Why is Frank Sinatra so popular?

Personally, I find his songs to be boring. His type of songs are usually listened to by old folks.

 

I guess his songs were inovative and extremely popular during his time and got carried over to the present generation.

 

He had machismo! He had a cocky manly style that appealed to men and made women go mushy. His songs followed a style of music that was very popular in his times and they are catchy enough that they still are popular in certain instances.

 

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it's not good. There are alot of other genres out there, people also think Norah Jones is boring but look how popular she is (and she makes good music).

So what songs do you like which you think aren't "boring"?

Hey, I'm not old, but I love his songs since I'm 5. You've got to have taste to like his music.

Sinatra's songs were for his time. Persons who were young in those days mainly go for his songs these days. I personally don't really listen to his music. The only song that 'Old Blue Eyes' sang that I remember is "I Did It My Way". That was like his signature song. His popularity now however has waned.
