I think Ponting was dropped but to cover up, they are telling that he rested! Now if Aussi lost this series and South African series then we surly see new captain for Australia.

 

To get to the second spot, India not only has to win the last ODI but Australia has to lose their currently ON ODI against New Zealand....

Btw, glad to know that Indian Captain has not become complacent and is looking forward to the 10th win as well.....

Yes if we would win series 5-0 and if New Zealand beat Australia in series then we would go on no.2 spot.

Yes but it only happen if NZ win series against Australia and Australia win ODI Series by 3-2 against South Africa.

 

We should not be relying on other teams not doing well....particularly since our own Indian team is doing exceptionally well on its own....
If Indians can maintain such performance in future as well, we should be easily Numero UNO within next 2 months....God bless!

Well India can be go on top by just taking lead of 3-0 in New Zealand and we will be Ranked 1 for few days.

If India can really manage to win the last ODI tomorrow and all three against New Zealand (looks tough..though), then Dhoni would have already got 13 wins at a stretch and would be definitely on road to challenging Australia's 21 wins record !!

Yes I am sure that this time India will change the history by winning both series as we never won series since 1967 I think and it's time to write some new history.

 

I think India and Australia will dominate the no 1 spot in test and ODI in 2009.

 

india can grab the first position by just winning 2 more matches
because if new zealand will get more points if they beat australia in next three ODI's and india will get extra point for beating the strong team

 

Well India win next 3 match, they still level with South Africa in points, so they have to take 3-0 lead over NZ to grab World No.1 Team which means we need 4 wins to secure it.
