ZDNet took to the streets and showed people Linux running KDE4 but told them it was Windows7.

I like windows 7 because it loads faster than xp and looks cooler than vista.

ZDNet Magazine put that together and put it on the web. So you're response is to attack me?! What kind of a low life are you?

    Brilliant.

You could probably do the same with OS X if you managed to hide the Apple Logo...

In essence what they have done here is taken some unique software and portrait it as the next big thing. The problem will be if this spreads around and people learn about it, the real Windows 7 will be rejected as a cheap rip off.

    Think about it this way:
If you went into a store and saw a preview for a great new video game and bought it next week. Provided it was much worse than the previews, you would tell all of your friends that it was a piece of crap and not to buy it. It only makes sence that this is bound to happen if hundreds of thousands of people see this movie.

You miss the point. Apparently you don't know that ZDNet, the makers of that video, is a computer magazine. For fun, or just to see what would happen, people showed KDE4 on Linux and told them it was Windows7. The interesting reaction was that people loved it while dissing Vista and XP. Which not only tells us something about Vista and XP, but also tells you something about KDE4 and many people's misguided notions of what Linux is like.

No you didn't. Or you did because you chose that route. In any case, read the story of Master Foo:

many operating systems work well but its the ease of use and availability that makes windows the market leader, nothing more

Command line is fun but most people will simply be too intimidated by it to ever want to get their hands dirty and discover how quick and simple it actually is.

Nothing like running an install from command line, so quick and clean yummm.

You are also more in control with things that run from the command line. When you just have point/click, things run on their own and you can't stop it or control what's happening. Customization is usually more available, too.
