Hi all, I have a few websites and want some work done for them. I want to put my jobs to contest in the contests forum and would like to know from regular entrants how much I should offer to expect a reasonable job? How much should I offer for a logo design? How much should I offer for a for a header design? How much for a landing page? How much for a website or around 3 pages? Have a think about what you think each task is worth for you to have a go and please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance. PS: I asked if I could post this in contests but mod said I need to post this here rather than in contests. I hope you guys/girls frequent this area too!
Hello bushranger, the prices are all should be dependend on you, also, the better the quality of work, the more expensive the design should cost.
Hi MoneyMonsta, thanks for your answer. I understand the prices I set are up to me but what i'm asking is how much money would make more people have a go at the contest? How much money would make you enter, for instance? Say I want to offer a logo contest, how would I know the quality of work before setting a price? I won't know the quality to expect until people start posting their entries. For example, if I want to have a logo built and I offer $10 prize to the winner and 5 people enter. Should I instead offer $50 for a logo? Will that get more entries or does everyone enter every contest no matter how much I offer?
I dunno, whatever people go for. To do a proper corporate identity could cost hundreds or thousands of dollars to do professinoally - so even 100$ for just a logo is still cheaping out. Generally I'll say this: design takes time. College takes time and money. It's not free, and the better it is, the more it MUST cost for the person to eat. You have to get what you pay for among professionals.
A good result to me is having 20+ people enter the contest by submitting their designs, giving me a great choice to take to my client (even if it's me) to choose from. I agree and understand it takes time & money for pro's to do it but why pay the pro's hundreds, if not thousands, when a DPer can, and will, do it for a lot less? Still no definitive answer on what's a 'fair' price to offer up front really.
i would say 1 bill for logo if u want it professional, and web design around 3 - 4 bills, of course there is a ppl who can make it cheaper for you, but good designers know the price for themselves.
you can read this forum posts for research about the offers and how other member react. Or you can just throw an offer and increasing or decreasing later
