    >>>I wouldn't have expected a refund based upon listings appearing on indexed pages, I think that's asking too much.

I think both issues meriet a refund. Near all the directories in the Google supplement index and a submission being in a categories where 33 out of 35 directories the category wasn't in the Google index.

It boils down to the fact that you're disgruntled and are trying to blacklist someone, there was no need to bring in their name otherwise.

Caveat emptor. Next time do *your* job first. The fact that you're a professional directory submitter and apparently don't even check something as basic as indexed pages before submitting, well, you're making yourself look more unprofessional than the directory owner IMO.

Bob, comming to DP and makeing a thread like this is more unethical in my eyes, than the no refund.
From what you wrote, they allready did alot of work on your behalf. (review, submission, approval, then removal) + they gave you a discount..
And then you repay them by making this nonsense thread, because you messed up..

It is your job to check the places you sign up. If you pay money for submissions, then you should make sure the quality is precise what your clients expect. You should be the one repaying your client for submitting the wrong place, not the directory..

Personally I would have refunded some of it*(50-80%), just because thats the way I do business, but that cannot be expected from all.

Just because a directory is not indexed doesn't mean you should get a refund. The exception is if the directory was sold to you as being fully indexed in google.

Some site owners can do nothing to stop their sites being in the supplemental index. Its up to you to decide whether to pay for a directory listing or not.

I support Tanya, If you did not do your home work before the site submissions does not mean that you will go and Speak out in a public forum like this.
This is some thing more un ethical in my eyes (No offence to you Bob).

Bob, I have to agree with others on this. I don't think it is reasonable for you to expect a refund in this case, especially since you were given such a discounted rate and all the links were added in to the 35 directories. Depending on how that is setup, that could take a lot of work! I think your client was misguided in even requesting the refund, actually, since the listings are still worth it (especially since they are going to be putting more promotion into the sites). I expect those pages will be in the cache before long. However, as others have noted and you have agreed, if that was a requirement of your client, you should have checked it out. You can't expect it to be done for you.

i just feel that it should be checked where the directories are hosted before paying for bulk submissions.

Either the amount should be repaid or assurance of promotion be done , some step should be taken by the provider to my opinion.
