How much I should charge for advertisement?

Well, I decided to monetize my small forum talking about game so I have asked some members who are already advertising their stuff in our forum.

They are willing to pay for ad (sticky post, banner etc) but I have no clue how much I should charge for that exclusive priviledge.

    I am planning to decide
    1. exclusive ad with no other competitors allowed
    2. shared ad space with other competitors

i have an 1 year old forum with 15k average page view daily, 2.2k active members, and average guest staying time is 8min based on the Google analysis.

Any suggestion I have to offer? Please help a newbie web admin^^ thx

Really depends, do you want to offer exclusive, more expensive ads.

    OR

Do you want to offer cheaper, rotating ads that allow more customers.

It's all about which you feel would make you a better profit at the end of the year, rather then the end of the day.

Thank you dev-ebusiness for your advice.

However, I do know how to arrange the ads but I do not have any clue neither estimation of which I have to charge them.

    I mean numbers :) even basic $

    Thank you mentos,

Is that figures are based on your experience? Or just a common practice for this business?

Post it to simply cover your operating costs. Then, once you get a stable amount of advertisers and members, increase the rates.

Start with small amount and once the traffic increases to advertisers, you can increase the rate...
