I had a good domain so I decided to start a free directory as a smaller side project. Now...does anyone have any ideas towards promoting this free directory? I thought I would ask. Any help would be gold.

Thanks for the replies! I am using eSyndiCat, and so far I like it. I already posted my directory on DP, last night, and I now have 141 Links. So I guess the promotion of the Directory is very much the same as a regular website? The target market seems to be webmasters themselves, correct? Offering premium links, and using adsense or affiliate programs?
I have an idea. Make reciprocal link an optional field. May be you can find some more meaningful links.
Right now the reciprocal link field is optional. What did you mean about finding meaningful links? Adding quality sites manually?
