Anyone use SiteGround Hosting?

I'm looking to start my forum via MyBB, and found this:

    http://www.siteground.com/mybb-hosting.htm

...I have heard of SiteGround, but never really seen any DP members mention about it. Anyone have info about them? Suggestions/Opinions? Thanks! :)

I haven't heard of them and they seem to be overselling a lot, there is no way they can be providing that amount of resources for that price.

Most hosts will install MyBB for you, and a lot of hosts have installers for scripts like these.

You can purchase a domain for under $10 per year, at places such as http://www.namecheap.com, then get cheaper and better quality hosting from other providers.

Thanks Samcroft, I will consider your host service, and will be in contact very shortly. Do you have any DP members that can give testimonial to your host service?

My only experience with siteground was for a quick fix job. Everything looked ok but they had server configuration errors with sub directories & php. I would go with MT if you can afford the step up from Grid Service ( its like 50/month though), hostmonster would be the lower budget option.

Thanks shallowink, I really appreciate it. For 50/month with MT is a bit over my budget, but you get what you pay for, so I'll definitely keep it in consideration. I also considered hostmonster... but I hear some horror stories from. Hosting is always a crap shoot, it seems.

I haven't tried MyBB only phpBB for a forum. I run it on a lunarpages shared plan. Are you starting the forum or is it already established?

Well keep in mind some of those horror stories are from people with little exp. or seriously outrageous expectations. Plus, its real hard to make everybody happy. I have a client on Hostmonster with a ecomm shop which does some pretty serious backend processing (every 15 minutes). So far, it's held up pretty good. And its been just awesome compared to their old webhost.

I don't run a forum or even really work with them. But I do know you need an upgrade path cause they are resource intense. I'll end with the admonition to avoid godaddy at all costs ;)

@ Micksss: I am starting the forum. I was going to use a friend's forum that was already established, but it fell through. However, I am certain that it is better for me to start my own, new forum... it's going to focus on the freelance writing/online writing niche. I have hundreds eager for it to get launched, so I need to get my butt in gear :p

@shallowink: Thanks for the positive story with hostmonster... you're not making this an easy decision haha. :D GoDaddy will certainly be avoided!

I think Siteground is renting servers from the Planet. I haven't heard bad things about them, though there are few dissatisfied customers. But, again, you get what you paid for.

thanks serverpoint and bohol! appreciate your help... from what people have told me, they definitely are that 'you get what you pay for' deals. :( I have narrowed my potential hosting client to 3 small hosts that I found (rather, they found me) right here on DP :D ...It's tough choices, but I am amazed by the support from everyone!
