"Bargains at auction" Anything to do with the current financial crisis?

There is just over 12 hours left in the DOMAINfest 2009 auction, and I can't believe how quiet it is.

There are around 5000 domains in the auction and less than 100 have been bid on. (they are not big bids either)

    With 12 hours to go

design.info has had 13 bids and is at $1,100.00
volleys.com has had 1 bid and is at $925.00
clearer.com has had 5 bids and is at $575.00
banners.info has had 7 bids and is at $525.00
carried.com has had 7 bids and is at $500.00
casie.com has had 3 bids and is at $400.00
condos.biz has had 2 bids and is at $350.00
fe8.com has had 1 bid and is at $325.00

Currently, the following info domains are somewhere between $325.00 and $600.00.

    images.info
    old.info
    heart.info
    channel.info
    designers.info
    networking.info
    newsletter.info
    navigation.info
    printing.info
    retail.info
    roads.info
    tacoma.info
    window.info
    actress.info
    clip.info
    clipart.info
    estates.info
    euros.info
    exclusive.info
    found.info
    grapes.info

Unless there is a bidding frenzy in the next 12 hours, there are going to be some bargains at this auction.

Anybody else been watching the auction?
What are your opinions on these seemingly low and non existent bids? Financial crisis or something else?

Bad time to be a seller... Good time to be a buyer!

    Cheers
    James

market is dead, I still can't believe that I can find some specific generic .info domains that I have right now I registered them in the last 2 weeks, and evey day really good aged domains are expiring, waiting someone to take them. I believe people does not care about domains any more, having cash is a better option.. But those domains are really cheap the ones that you listed, but it's starnge that nobody has any interes on them

I'm not too much into domaining but those aren't good deals in the present day market. Realize what I mean here before you burn me at the cross, when the economy was booming those domains going for those prices would be ridiculous but given what's happening globally people don't have the money to throw around big cash, only bigger players are going to take the risk - a lot of people are either selling or just getting rid of them or letting them expire as a method of tightening their belt for the financial crunch. If you have the means go for it, but honestly I'd say you'd get a lot more out of it if you actually developed on it rather then just throwing a landing page.

Yes the state of the economy has brought prices down dramitcally, it is real! domains with websites that have income will still remain strong.

I have to agree with that.
Just over an hour to go and there hasn't been any major changes in the bidding.
Must be a sign of the times.
Would be nice to have a bucket load of cash to invest at the moment.

    Cheers

I am interested on those names but I believe we might have better opportunities, I'll be waiting because I don't want to regret may be in the near future we can have those kind of names in other major extensions. And if they can not sell those names for those prices then they would have to set a cheaper price for those domains next time. The prices depends on demand, if no one demands for specific domains or keywords, we would have opportunity to have those names  just imagine, you are holding hundreds/thousands of domains you are planning to keep them as long as you get a good offer, then because of crisis you become unemployed, you don't have any money even for paying your taxes then how can you pay your yearly domain fees? you have only two option, you can let them drop or you can sell them at cheap prices  I think that's what's going on, because I have really seen amazing names on the domain aftermarket it's unbelievable ;)
