    Hi all,

When doing backling research on my sites, I noticed most (95%) of my backlinks are listed as yahoo backlings. Only a few are google backlinks. What is the difference b/c I can't find any differences from my google and yahoo links? How do I get google backlinks? Does yahoo backlings increase google search results? I noticed this for many tops sites in google as well...only a few come up in google and most come up from yahoo. Will more "google" backlinks give me an edge?

    Thanks

Google only shows a sample of your backlinks, but I don't think those are the only backlinks that they are counting. If you check in your Google Webmaster Tools account, I believe it shows more backlinks than the link:www.domain.com command does. Yahoo tends to show every link they find regardless if it is nofollow or if it is an internal link.

Just keep working at getting any indexable backlinks and the rankings will come in time. Google does put a lot more weight on quality links. So it may pay off to focus more on links from pages with pagerank.

Google never show the complete list of back links. Authorized persons only can do through webmaster tool.

Yes I'm agree with others that google does not shows all of backlink. But if you're using google webmaster tools then you can easily view your external & internal link from google webmaster link tab.

do not focus too much on the number of backlinks you have, put more effort into generating new contet on a consistent basis. look at your traffic and conversions, people often get stuck in a hole in trying to build pr. I would rather have 100 people visiting my site with a 30% conversion than to get 1000 visitors and just 20 conversions...

Simple. Big G doesn't show all your links, but Yahoo does! :)
