hello, well like the topic name tells it, i was offered 3$, just to put some script on my site. All i know about the script is that it is some PageRank script, don't know the code or what it does, it's gotta do something if my putting it on my site is worth 3$ to the guy, but i don't know what. I would like to know is it legal, and should i take the deal?
And this was on a different forum not on DP.

If he won't tell you what the script is, why in your right mind would you do it?? You can get $3 by searching under the couch, why risk your site for an impossibly large number of horrible results? Maybe he's cookie stuffing your visitors, redirecting them, giving himself a hacked in to your admin section... just... don't.

Just a one time payment of $3? Bah, not worth it, at the very least he is using your bandwidth for his profit, or tracking your visitors or whatever.

i got a smilar thing, i run a teen money making forum and the supposed admin of teen hut, a popular teen forum, came to my site and offered to put a piece of code on my site to get 1 5th of his traffic as he supposedly has enough. I asked to see the code as im good with ftp and he said he didnt have time to explain where it goes etc. Total scam lol.

The script is going to do 1 of 2 things. Its either going to run pop-ups, or its going to try and install spyware / malware on peoples computers. So if site gets flagged for doing drive by installs of malicious software do not complain.

If the malicious software is bad enough, and your host shuts your site down, do not complain.

Its best to stay far, far away from those types of people.

I wouldn't be adding random scripts to your site for $3 bucks. Sounds fishy to me!

Why would you even consider putting a script you know nothing about on your site? Not to mention for only $3?

You can probably get more for selling 1 backlink even if it is a PR0 site.
