NY Times is Treasonous

Recently, the New York Times has exploited a top secret Bush Administratioin operation of scanning financial transactions of suspected terrorists. Bush says this exploit is disgraceful to all those that published it (LA Times included).

Sen. King (Rep.) has accused the NY Times of TREASON against the United States of America for intentionally damaging major efforts of tracking down terrorists and winning this war.

You know, back in the Civil War ages, Pres. Lincoln had a guy from Illinois who was plastering anti-Union things in a newspaper, causing much fear and dismay to those fighting AND the citizens... Pres. Lincoln had him arrested and his newspaper establishment burned for TREASON.

More of my views can be found here: http://blog.mattsprojects.net/rants/06/27/2006/my-political-update

The NY Times needs to be shut down... it is the most liberally-biased and concophonying newspapers in our country...

Isnt that be a little rediculous, the times felt it was right to inform the people that there bank records were being monitored. Yeh they might be suspected terrorist, but what about those who arent? Dont they have rights.

    Just my 2 cents

This was monitoring over seas. The US GP had no need to know. NYT should be prosecuted, it's source (leaker) found out and tried for treason. If the NYT refuses to give up it's source, the NYT CEO and the author should be thrown in jail for contempt of court, 1 year sentence for each day that passes without puking up the name of the mole inside the CIA.

Once that name is given up, nothing less than the death penalty IMO, I wonder how many lives this leaker/traitor will cost...

If it was TOP SECRET, how did the Times find out about it? :p

Well if Bush says so....

Treason is exposing secret CIA agents.

YES! Let's shut down one of the most widely circulated publications in the world! I'm all for it. I want to get my daily news directly from the White House.

It is SUPPOSED to be Top Secret, dangit... the Times was NOT supposed to know.

Treason is not just exposing secret CIA agents, it's the crime of disloyalty to one's nation. A person who betrays the nation of their citizenship and/or reneges on an oath of loyalty and in some way willfully cooperates with an enemy, is considered to be a traitor. Oran's Dictionary of the Law (1983) defines treason as: "...[a]...citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure the [parent nation]."

You can see the seriousness of this....

The only reason the NY Times is so popular is because of the huge city it's in; not the quality of its publishings.

yeah, that's my point. Why don't they go after the person who leaked the info....oh yeah, that wouldn't be pretty!

    Not really, no.

HA HA HA HA HA! That's just ridiculous, man!

Why do republicans hate the constitution so much?

God bless the NYTimes, they are fed up with the Nazis in the White House and this is WaterGate II, it is high time Bush and Cheney are held to account for their crimes against the citizens of America and against the citizens of the world!

Justice works slow in America (Enron-Ken Lay = Bush and Cheney friends), but it is working, everyone should vote against Republicans across the board in the mid term elections, then you will see justice against the White House in the form of a well deserved impeachment for all of the Nixon gang that stole the office in the first place!

Woah, that's way out of line.

    A) No true republicans hate the constution; republicans are PATRIOTIC, unlike other political parties in the US.

    B) Where would you get the idea I hate the constitution (me being a republican, obviously)?

    -----------

Why would you laugh then say "that's ridiculous man" then just ... stop right there...? You don't prove anything, you don't even argue the point. You don't assert your own opinion or facts or sources. That's not very good debate practice, really... kind of admits defeat.

Also, I'm pretty disgusted that you don't see the seriousness of treason.

So now it's my turn to make an out of line comment:

How come all liberals do is complain using sarcasm and hate the United States?

Nazis? In the White House? Woah, Where??? Watergate II? What crimes? What's wrong with freeing millions of people? What's wrong with stopping terrorists? What's wrong with defending freedom? Are you even an American citizen?

And, I don't understand your second paragraph:

What does Nixon have to do with this, hmmm? Nixon and Bush are completely seperate presidents... you cannot go making this analogy.

It is plain to see the Republicans all have their heads in the sand and can't see that Americans do not support them, I guess they think 7 out of 10 Americans that do not support them is just some fallacy or something!

We can solve this problem in government folks, all true Americans, vote against every Republican in the mid term elections, then justice will be brought upon the criminals in the White House!

PS: Plug these keywords into your favorite search engine Son, you have a lot to learn!

    Nixon Nazi

    Cheney Rumsfeld Nixon

My bad! I wasn't referring to you....hell, I don't even know if you're a republican (and I don't care). I was referring to Senator King...but I can see I didn't make that even remotely clear.

    Please accept my apology.

But I disagree with that. I'm pretty sure the majority of people in Congress (both sides) don't actually give a shit about anyone but themselves and their shady cohorts.

The NY Treason has been losing circulation for a long time and especially the past few years. And they've been committing treason against the US long before Kerry started the fad.

When terrorists need the inside scoop on intelligence, they have no better friend than the NY Treason.

Those are things Anthony is against. If you ever see Anthony condemn a terrorist or say a bad word about them, then you know the world is coming to an end.

Because the NYT is on the inside afterall.

Like the terrorists didn't know that their financial activities could be monitored. Oooooh, now they know all of our secrets! BAN THE PRESS!

Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) called King’s proposal “premature” and paraphrased Thomas Jefferson: “Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.”

Maybe you and Cheney can cry because you can't legally spy on Americans and the citizens of the world GTech....

I feel so sorry for the Nixon Gang! :D :p :p

God Bless the NYTimes for standing up to Nazi rule!

Bush was forceful in asserting what the newly revealed data-mining program isn't doing. "We're not mining or trolling through the personal lives of millions of innocent Americans," he insisted. "Our efforts are focused on links to al-Qaeda terrorists and its affiliates." But no one in his Administration was willing to shed any light on how it is using the information it is getting or what the value of the whole exercise has been. White House officials hint that only long-distance calls, not local ones, are in the database, but they won't go much further. Even some of the President's friends say they need more answers. Asks Grover Norquist, a G.O.P. activist and an important White House ally: "The question for the government is, What was the point of this? What did this do for us? What is it good for?"

No wonder he wants to put Google out of business, the Bush search engine is better than Google, maybe he is the one behind the spam sites!

Close! The NY Treason is on a side, the side of enemies of the U.S.

If only the NY Treason's article was a mere one sentence, as above. But no, they had to sell the US out again. And some people are happy about it, which at one time, would be shocking, but not these days.

Yeah, right, Specter, huh? Apparently Specter (as usual) gets it wrong again. The NY Treason is a newspaper, not all of them. Other newspapers should not be judged on the NY Treason, the NY Treason should be judged on it's actions.

Enemies of my (not your) country are not concerned with Bill Clinton's Enron scandal or the 3 billion deal Clinton helped them get or all the money that suddenly started coming into the DNC.

Stop playing the "I'm so better than you" game guys, it's getting old. Freedom of speech gives everyone the right to have an oppinion and tell who they like about it. Dont get mad just because they aren't putting these stories on A20 anymore ;)
