Glad you guys all like the tips! Stumpleupon traffic can sometimes be great and other times can stink.

I have had experiences with both sides. I think the best thing to do is just keep at it and eventually you will start to get a ton of traffic to your blog!

Every few weeks I work on writing a new blog post based off Google Trends and they usually rank pretty well in Google and therefore I get incoming traffic for weeks from that one post. And yes this is only for US topics. I am sure if you do a search there are other search engines that provide hot topics / searches outside of the US.

So try it out guys and see what kind of traffic you can generate!

That is true. It is only temporary traffic but I still think its good to have every once in awhile. I do the same type of things on reddit.com. It brings temporary traffic but good exposure to your blog/website.

Yup you should! Its a great tool to use to get ideas of topics to write about on your blog.

I would say if you can get a very popular topic then Digg would be better. You can generate a lot more traffic with it. However I seem to find more success myself getting more traffic from SU then Digg because its easier to get people to stumble your page then get something really popular on Digg. Another one I like to use that is similar to Digg is Reddit. That one seems to work very well.

You can also submit your blog to Digg.com to get more quality traffic.

I have had mixed results with SU .. Sometimes it brought me good traffic & other times it didn't...

I had more success with Digg, Propeller, Jumptags & Twitter

Google Trends can also be used to capitalize on future launches.. An example, few days back HP announced that it will launch a product called HP Mini. Naturally there were lot of searches and it featured on Google Trends. Now if you are into Physical products you can quickly register a domain for the product and when the product is ready to roll you can sell from your website. Even if you are not into physical products, you can make a quick buck by registering & selling the domains....

Very true. Both work pretty well I think. But I'd try to just all of them to get the traffic you are looking for.

How you get good traffic from Twitter?

Google trends and pay attention to news feeds in your niche also. In fact if you are in a niche it would pay to subscribe to online journals and newsletters and any other areas where you can get in the loop of the latest breakthrough, fad, craze etc

Fair enough. I use Twitter but haven't generated a ton of traffic from Twitter yet.

Agreed. This is a good technique to stay up to date with your niche and write great new blog posts!
