I am moving my host company in the next few days. I have about twenty sites for clients that I am moving. The problem is all the domain name were reged with my soon to be old host. How do I renew the domain names, who will let me know that they have to be renewed, as I cant let them drop. Will I be able to renew the names, with my new hosting company
..and what's wrong, if you keep your domains at your old registrar? just update dns settings to point them to your new server
LOL you dont need anyone to tell you when and how just use any whois/domain lookup tools to find your expiry date, like this one: http://domainwhitepages.com Code (markup):
just go to name.com , godaddy.com or any other registrars and there will be transfer option first get the auth code of the domain from your domain control panel now initiate the transfer in new registrars thats it its good to keep hosting , domain registrar as separate always
Every normal hosting company informs you by email when your domain is going to expire. If yours one doesn't, I'm sorry. As for domain transfer: 1. You need to unlock find your authorization code for each domain at current registrar website; 2. Start transfer process with new registrar: pay yearly fees and enter authorization code for each domain; 3. You need to confirm email addresses, you've specified in whois info for every domain (you will receive an email message with code from new registrar). After that, usually in a week time, your domains will be moved to your new registrar. However, you can always find the info on hosting websites: http://help.godaddy.com/article/1592
