Virtual Currency?

    I see that some advertisers allow "Virtual Currency" to promote email submit offers, etc. What does "Virtual Currency" refer to and can you name one example?

    Second Life for instance, has its own currency referred to as Linden Dollars. Maybe that's what they mean.

    Most of these virtual communities prohibit trading these items for goods or services, ah good to know though.

    What advertisers work in this way? Why should we name an example when you apparently already know some that work like this? I don't think you're going to get any answers with unspecific questions like that.
